CEO + Founder
Trevor is a leader and entrepreneur at heart, with a passion for business. Most days, you’ll find him deeply engaged with customers, discussing innovative lighting and technology solutions while keeping value and customer ROI top of mind.
Trevor completed a finance degree at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec, and more recently, an Entrepreneurship program at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta.
Away from the office, Trevor is a loving and proud father of two, who enjoys talking all things sports, hitting the links and spending time in his garden.
Director of Operations
In pursuit of a family dream, Johanna joined Gold Leaf Technologies full-time in August of 2019. Having worked in stakeholder and Indigenous relations in the energy industry for 9+ years, Johanna welcomed the opportunity to delve into the operational side of the business, and to get a little creative. Working in the agricultural industry has been a breath of fresh air, from meeting all the outstanding individuals we work with and supporting so many great projects, it gives us hope for a brighter future.
Johanna graduated from Bishop’s University with an Honours degree and is currently completing a Marketing & Strategic Communications Extension Certificate at Mount Royal.
Apart from raising their two kids, Johanna loves supporting local small businesses,
skating, reading and cooking whatever Trevor grows in the garden.
VP of Sales
Ted has a long record of success in his sales career, either working directly for S&P 500 organizations or as a manufacturer’s representative in Canada.
When his son, Trevor, founded Gold Leaf Technologies, Ted jumped at the opportunity to join the team. As VP of Sales for the expanding operations in Eastern Canada, Ted continues to provide consulting capacity to Gold Leaf Technologies on a regular basis. Being a part of the growing company over the past 3 years have been some of the most rewarding memories of his career!
Outside of work, Ted can be found playing golf, or enjoying his year round retreat with his wife Maria at their home in the Rideau Lakes.
Senior Solutions Consultant
Chris grew up in Montreal as the oldest of 3 children. He attended Acadia University majoring in English, eventually moving to Toronto where he started his sales career.
Chris has extensive B2B sales and management experience in food and beverage,
commercial and industrial coatings, and most recently in the lighting industry.
He’s married with two children that keep him busy, and when he has time
he enjoys playing golf, skiing and staying fit.
Senior Solutions Consultant
Will is an entrepreneur at heart, with a passion for good tomatoes. Most days, you’ll find him engaged with our customers, helping them to build an ROI to improve their crop yield and quality.
Will completed an MBA from the Haskayne School of Business, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Small Business and Entrepreneurship from the School of Business at the University of Alberta. He is currently working towards CEMBa (Center for Evidence-Based Management) designation.
Outside of work, Will enjoys spending time with with his daughter, playing competitive soccer, hiking, and growing vegetables in his garden.
Marketing & Communications Consultant
Janine has been working in communications and marketing for over 10 years across Canada and the USA.
A lifelong grammar queen, Janine completed a Bachelors of Communications at the University of Calgary, and a Masters of Communications at the University of Ottawa. She is very excited to be a part of the Gold Leaf Technologies team, to help develop and grow customer communications, social media and marketing initiatives, while contributing to a more sustainable future.
Outside of work, Janine loves to travel with her family, attend hockey games
and concerts, or go to barre and yoga class.
Light Planning Specialist
As a part time team member, Isha is responsible for designing and producing comprehensive lighting plans for commercial greenhouses and cannabis operations.
She is currently a second year student studying Architecture at the University of Waterloo in Cambridge Ontario, and has a deep interest in sustainability and how it can be integrated into modern construction.
Outside of the office, Isha enjoys cooking, traveling and going on long walks.
Marty is a lifelong, serial entrepreneur who has owned and operated 13 companies in various industries. As an award-winning business coach, Marty believes that to grow your business, you must grow and improve the people within it. He blends his business experience with practical insights he has learned as a business coach and consultant, to develop strategies that transform performance and exceed business goals.
The Gold Leaf Technologies team is thrilled to have Marty onboard in an advisory capacity to help Gold Leaf Technologies realize their goals of scaling the business, hiring and developing team members, and expanding their customer base across Canada.
Dr. Nick Savidov
Senior Research Advisor
Dr. Nick Savidov, PhD, is the Senior Research Scientist and CCA NSERC Aquaponics Project Lead with Lethbridge College. Dr. Savidov is an internationally recognized expert in Integrated Food Production Systems, such as aquaponics, and agro-ecology. His research in the last 15 years has focused on the conversion of organic waste into mineralized nutrient solutions to create zero-waste food production systems. Dr. Savidov was also one of the first researchers in Alberta who studied commercial LED lights for crop production from early 2000s until present.
The Gold Leaf Technologies team is honoured to have Dr. Savidov onboard in an advisory capacity to provide plant physiology expertise, as well as research and development input.
